Coverack Rising Main Scheme Complete
The Coverack Rising Main Scheme is complete after 6 months of work.
After multiple bursts and environmental incidents, it was decided that the existing Coverack Mill rising main required replacement, and we’re pleased to announce after 6 months the scheme is finally complete.
The Glanville Bodmin team have been hard at work since February diverting the existing rising main by constructing a new pumping station within the North Corner Car Park to re-route the waste water away from inaccessible private gardens and the cliff edge where erosion became an issue.
Consisting of multiple setbacks, the pipes now in place ensure any environmental risk to private gardens or erosions concerns have now been minimised as the new pipe has been re-routed via highways and fields to reach the sewage treatment works. Our crew have meticulously excavated and laid the new rising main, which includes of 840m pipe line consisting of a 575m long 225HPPE rising main, 165m of 225dia gravity sewer and a 100m long 200HPPE siphon.
This project has caused some disruption to the local community with multiple traffic light systems in place as the highway was excavated and the North Corner carpark being out of access during the busy summer months, however the Glanville teams have ensured minimal disruption and allowed time to make things easier for the local community during the project by communicating on any issues they may be facing.
