LEJOG raises £4966.25 for Macmillan Cancer Support
On 4th June 2022, Glanville’s Kenny Gallagher and Jamie Treliving with their friend Roger set off on their mammoth mission to complete LEJOG.
The intense cycling challenge in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, consists of a 909-mile cycle from Lands End to John O Groats over 9 days.
Having had their trip postponed since the beginning of 2020 due to the pandemic, the trio finally set off on their 9-day mission to conquer the challenge and raise funds for Macmillan in memory of Kenny’s mother, Jean, who sadly passed away from cancer two years ago.
Putting power to the pedal, Kenny, Jamie and Roger rode through some of Britain’s most beautiful scenery while being tested by the adverse weather conditions the more North they rode. Jamie decided to take on this challenge to support Kenny but also tick off one of his bucket list tasks he’d been putting off!
The teams’ effort has provided Macmillan with significant funds to support those suffering with cancer and their families. Monies raised can contribute to:
- Funding a Macmillan Nurse for 21 days
- Helping the Macmillan support line answer 261 calls from people needing information and support
- Funding the online community for 292 hours allowing people to access advice and support as well as enabling them to connect with others who have been through a similar experience
Glanville are beyond proud of the achievements of the trio and if you’d like to donate and support to this brilliant cause please visit Glanville's LEJOG fundraiser.
