QuickView 360 Revolutionises Underground Infrastructure Inspections at Glanville Environmental
Glanville Environmental continues to lead the way in underground infrastructure inspections with the recent acquisition of the QuickView 360, the latest innovation in manhole surveying technology.
As one of the first applications of this advanced tool in the South West Water network, the QuickView 360 equipment expands our already impressive suite of tools, enhancing our ability to deliver precise, efficient, and innovative solutions to our clients.
The QuickView 360 revolutionises manhole and underground asset inspections by providing swift and accurate 4K video capture with a full 360-degree view of vertical access points. Critically, it achieves this without necessitating confined space entry for internal manhole photography. This aligns perfectly with our ongoing commitment to improving health and safety by minimising the risks associated with human entry into confined spaces.
At the heart of this system is its ability to capture comprehensive visual data through dual back-to-back cameras, seamlessly stitching the images together into a high-quality 360-degree video. Once captured, the footage is directly uploaded via a Wincan Web portal to the cloud, where it is processed and made available for review. The online platform enables dynamic video manipulation, allowing users to explore any part of the chamber—above or below the camera—with ease and precision.
Beyond video capture, the QuickView 360 software takes innovation a step further by rendering 3D models of the chambers. This advanced visualisation capability provides unparalleled insights into asset conditions, significantly enhancing the decision-making process for maintenance and rehabilitation strategies.
Implementing the QuickView 360 has already proven its value in the field. It has been instrumental in identifying additional infiltration points and delivering high-quality video data that informs the selection of appropriate rehabilitation methods. Additionally, it has played a pivotal role in a comprehensive Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) inspection program, offering vital visual support to assess existing asset conditions. When combined with manhole record cards, this tool helps create a holistic view of underground infrastructure, integrating dimensional surveys and live video data into a cohesive framework.
The Results
This investment underscores Glanville Environmental's dedication to staying at the forefront of industry innovation. It complements our earlier investment in the Elios 3 Confined Space Drone, reinforcing our strategic focus on reducing human exposure to hazardous environments while leveraging the latest technology to deliver exceptional results.
