Glanville Environmental Wins International Green Apple Environment Award 2026

The award recognises the success of a collaborative programme focused on identifying and addressing drainage misconnections that can negatively impact rivers, streams and coastal waters across the South West.

Drainage misconnections occur when wastewater from properties is incorrectly connected to surface water drainage systems, allowing untreated sewage, detergents and other pollutants to enter the natural environment. Through detailed investigations, customer engagement and targeted corrective actions, Glanville Environmental has worked alongside South West Water to help identify these issues and support their resolution.

The programme has contributed to improved water quality, reduced pollution risks and increased awareness of the environmental impact that misconnections can have on local watercourses and ecosystems.

This international recognition highlights both organisations’ shared commitment to protecting the environment and delivering meaningful, long-term environmental improvements for communities across the region.
