Are you ready to take your career to new heights with an exciting opportunity as a Project Agent/Civils Site Manager? Join our Major Projects Delivery Team, where you’ll be based out of our Exeter depot, driving the successful execution of ambitious civil engineering projects.

As a key member of our team, you’ll be at the forefront of overseeing and managing the entire project lifecycle, from inception to completion. Your expertise and leadership will be crucial in coordinating all on-site activities, ensuring that our projects run smoothly, efficiently, and with the highest standards of quality.

As a Project Agent/Civils Site Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment. You’ll work closely with diverse stakeholders, from skilled on-site engineers to labourers, to ensure that the project’s objectives are met on time and within budget. Your exceptional communication skills will be instrumental in maintaining strong working relationships and managing expectations effectively.

The Civils Project Agent must have the ability to undertake the following key activities and responsibilities:

  • Visit site and collect information for designing and planning
  • Give advice on scope/design requirements to achieve a solution
  • Assist in planning projects for delivery including highways liaisons, public liaisons, labour, plant and materials requirements
  • Manage the project programme and measure against milestones whilst reporting back to the Commercial department
  • Use of computer software (predominantly Microsoft Office) to produce site documentation and Close Down documents
  • Suitable time management skills to see projects through to completion and hit deadlines
  • Oversee works on site from an engineering, supervisory, and safety viewpoint
  • Relevant qualifications and experience in delivering engineering projects within the utilities sector, ideally within water and wastewater sectors including SMSTS, Streetworks and CSCS
  • Have knowledge and experience in Streetworks, especially around Streetworks requirements in line with traffic control and excavating within the highway
  • Have knowledge, experience and relevant qualifications in civil engineering
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Team Management skills
  • Full UK Driving licence
  • Understanding of and qualifications in Temporary Works

To thrive in this role, you should possess experience in construction or utilities, preferably in water and wastewater, and be familiar with the management style of the industry. Ideally, you will have specific experience in a similar role within the Water Utility Industry, particularly in the public and private sewer networks.
