Baking cakes and pastries that would have shamed the ‘Bake off’ contestants, staff at Glanville Environmental really got into fundraising mode to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support recently.
Cakes of all shapes and sizes were the order of the day, as staff at Lee Mill, Bodmin and Highbridge depots, baked, bought and sold cakes and pastries as part of the annual MacMillan Coffee Mornings campaign.
In addition to the delicious food, there was also a raffle with a fantastic prize, which was won by Nicola Humphreys.
Event organiser, Jade Doidge, Engineering Technician, at the company’s Lee Mill site said, “I was delighted with the response and support from everyone.”
“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for baking or buying so many lovely cakes and pastries, and to everyone who paid for, and ate their way through, a mountain of food in support of this worthy cause.”
Jade added, “I’m sure that everyone in our company knows of someone living with, or whose lives are affected by Cancer. It is great to think that by holding a coffee morning we have made a contribution that will help someone who needs support.”
The total amount raised was an amazing £392.83.
