Hollywood comes to Dartmoor -

Glanville Environmental are excited to have been involved in the backup provided to the Steven Spielberg film "War Horse" during filming at and around Dittsworthy Warren on Dartmoor at the end of 2010. 

We were approached by the production team to provide fresh water for horses and canteen facilities on the War Horse film set. We also transported 300 tons of soil to the site to create a ploughed field (they were not allowed to plough up the moor!) and then removed it all at the end of filming.  Those of you who know the weather on Dartmoor may be amused to learn that we also provided thousands of gallons of water for a rain-making machine, as apparently the rain we receive does not appear authentic to the camera!

The production team was so impressed with our professional attitude and attention to detail that we were invited to send a tanker and driver to the final filming site at Wisley Airfield in Surrey. 

As a result of the contacts made at the time, we are now involved in providing similar services on the set of 'Clash of the Titans 2', which is currently being filmed on a secret location in Wales.  Watch this space for further details...!
