Groundworks and Installation of Bio-Treatment Plant

The problem 

The internal workings of Mr Honeydew’s septic tank system had failed, the walls of the tank were badly deteriorated and raw sewage was finding its way into the River Erme only a few yards away. This was causing great concern to him and it was also an environmental issue that had to be dealt with immediately.

The solution

Glanville Environmental responded quickly to this crisis, and after an initial site survey suggested the installation of a low level fitting treatment plant. This system treats raw sewage through a system of chambers that treat material until the output is suitable to be discharged into a watercourse underground. Whilst the new system was being installed, Glanville assisted Mr Honeydew in successfully applying for a licence to discharge safely from the Environment Agency.

The result

The installation was completed in less than a week without any additional inconvenience to Mr Honeydew. The area was then reinstated to suit the existing landscape, leaving a working septic tank with no evidence of any groundwork. The system will only require an annual service by Glanville Environmental and the running cost is the same as a 40w light bulb!
