24 hr Flooding Emergency

The problem:Plymouth City Council had a flooding emergency that required immediate attention. Several road gullies had  become blocked and the surface water could not drain away, and as a consequence the road had become dangerously wet and was causing a safety hazard.

Glanville Environmental offer a 24 hour callout service, 7 days a week, to cover such emergencies. and were quickly on the scene to cleared the blockages and to restore flows.

The solution: A tanker was first utilised to remove the excess water flooding the road and to reduce the flow sufficiently to locate the blocked lines  The blockage was quickly discovered and Glanville Environmental used a lorry mounted High Pressure Jet Vac unit to clear the blockage and remove the debris from the lines and gullies.

The result: With the blockages cleared water could then flow freely into the gullies and drains resulting in a much safer environment for all road users and pedestrians.
