National Marine Aquarium Multi Storey Car Park

The problem: The drains inside the multi-storey car park were blocked and water was not able to drain away. This was creating a hazard for drivers and pedestrians.

The solution: Glanville Environmental were called to unblock the drains. We initially sent one of our lorry mounted high pressure jet vacs with a trailer mounted jetting unit towed behind.

After an initial survey of the situation we cleared the external blockages, but because of the low ceilings the Jet Vac truck would not fit inside the car park. To resolve this issue we called in one of our transit vans and towed our trailer mounted jetting unit into position. Due to the difficult access and lack of water outlets the trailer mounted jetting unit was fed with water by our jet vac unit.

The result: Glanville Environmental successfully cleared all the blocked drains and gullies and restored them to full flow. The surface water  could now drain away from the concrete eliminating the flooding hazard.

Plymouth City Council 

The problem: Plymouth City Council had ongoing problems with  flooding in various car parks around Plymouth due to blocked and damaged drainage.

The solution: Glanville Environmental were called in to remove all debris from the gullies to allow water to flow into drains properly. The company undertook a CCTV cameras inspection to survey the lines and were able to identify the blockages and structural problems within the pipes. Any blockages within the drains were removed with one of our High Pressure Jet Vac units, and where if was found to be necessary we were requested to reline the pipes or to excavate down to repair them.  

The result: Upon completion all the drainage was restored to full flow and there were no further flooding problems.
