Pump Chamber Case Study

The problem: Effluent started flowing out of Bovey Castle’s septic tank onto the fairway of their golf course. This was an environmental hazard (not to mention ruining the beauty of the golf course!) so Glanville Environmental were called and responded to the problem immediately.

The solution

After an initial site survey by Glanville Environmental, the suggested solution was to install a pump chamber to pump raw sewage from the front of the hotel to the main sewer at the rear. The pump chamber was installed behind the first tee, the pumped rising main pipe travelled under the building extension and discharged into the main sewer where the sewer ran under gravity to the local treatment works.

The result

Glanville Environmental restored the site back to its original beauty, cleaning up the leaked sewage and perfectly replacing all the grass to look as good as new! With the new pump chamber installed and working there shouldn’t be a repeat of the problem.
