Environmental Mission and Values

Our mission is to encourage all stakeholders; every customer, supplier, subcontractor and employee, to think about the challenges that we face today and will meet in the future.  The UK produces around 330 million tonnes of waste annually, 25% of which is from households and business. 75% is generated from construction and demolition, sewage sludge, farm waste, spoil from mines and dredging of rivers.

Glanville Environmental meets the European standards for Environmental legislation. and we firmly believe that "it does not have to cost the earth". Everyone can make  a difference!

Glanville Environmental has a published Environmental Policy and 'makes a difference'
in communicating our values to stakeholders in terms of:

  • Integrity

  • Customer care

  • Respect for the environment in delivering our work and service

Environmental Management in practice

All vehicles that carry out sewage operations are cleaned and decontaminated (including hoses) at authorised South West Water disposal points before returning to their depot. In addition to the statutory checks tyre pressures are checked regularly and as far as is reasonably practicable water is obtained when arriving on site to maximise fuel economy.

All vehicles are fitted with GPS tracking to support route planning and to minimise journey times and road miles for multiple waste collections.

Environmental Recycling Centre Ltd.

Our sister company Environmental Recycling Centre Ltd. owns and operates a waste treatment plant at Lee Mill near Plymouth. This bio-treatment plant removes grit for landfill and the bacteria in the separation tanks treats the remaining effluent to a standard that can be discharged safely into the South West Water main.

This plant also services other waste carriers in the area, minimising and treating inert sewage waste, thus preserving a clean and safe environment.
